Who are you?

Self Image

Who does self image effect? Who cares about your self image? Who knows about your self image?

The answer above is not others, the answer is you! It's always going to be you.

We spend so much time worrying about what others think of us. We are always worry about how we are perceived by others. In the end we are only worrying and stress about ourselves. That worry and concern becomes what others see, they never see what ever it is we want them to see.

I have this issue, not near as bad as it once was, but I still catch myself worrying about how I must look. What I have learned to do is be aware of myself and stop myself from worrying. Being aware of yourself is not the same as self image. Being aware is very important so you can learn more about who you are and to help build confidence in yourself. The better you know yourself the less you worry about others and how you look. It's a great feeling when you can just be you and just "be".

We are who we are and from time to time we need others to tell us. It's hard for people to admit they are not what they think they are. It's even harder to accept that we can never be what we want to be. I can never be a lead singer, I can never be a great painter, but I can be play a part in a great band, and I there are many ways to be an artist besides drawing.

We have be selfish and only be concerned with ourselves. We can never do anything in life for others. This may seem to be the opposite type of thinking, but what it means is just do what needs to get done for you to be happy and as long you are right minded and conscious of others then those things are going to help others.

You can't be concerned about what you leave behind, only be concerned about where you are going. And only "you" can get there so you are the only one "you" need to think about along the way.

Please take the time to go read The way of the Superior Man by David Deida and also listen to as much David DeAngelo as possible. These concepts are not just for men or just for trying to pickup. They are life lessons on how to be the best person you can be and how to succeed at everyhting you want. Another great book on how to just learn to be aware and in the moment is The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.
