John Maxwell and feeding 5000

I had the great opportunity to see John Maxwell yesterday at my church, it was great to learn that our pastor is a life long friend of John's, to the point where John insisted on being apart of the church's grand opening. His message was about miracles and he used the story of Jesus feeding 5000 people with 2 fish and 5 loafs of bread. The essence of the story was that everybody has a purpose and a part in making a miracle happen. No matter how small or unimportant you may think your part is, that part is needed for that miracle to take place. In the story, out of the 5000 people there was only one boy who had that small portion of food, and he felt that he could do nothing to help all the people because he hardly had enough for himself, let alone the 5000 hungry mouths. But as long as he was willing to help where he could then he was doing his part in the bigger picture. Everybody is important and everybody has a role in the things that happen around them. You always have to be ready to help, you always have to be willing to help and everything else will work itself out. The biggest steps to be take are to just show up and be ready to start, 90% of success is showing up. Imagine how awesome the world would be if everybody decided to show up :)
